Jil Altufan Academy is a volunteer-run digital academy that works online. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use jilaltufan.org or apply to join.

2. The data we collect

When you fill in the application form, we collect:

Identification: full name, gender, date of birth, nationality, country of residence.
Contact details: email address, phone number.
Professional details: profession, affiliation (university, organisation, association…), CV.
Social links: the accounts you choose to share.

We may also collect limited technical data, such as your browser type and the pages you visit, to improve how the site performs.

3. Why we collect it

To review your application and assess how well it fits the program.
To keep in touch with you about your application, the programs and the sessions.
To send live session links to those registered.
To organise training groups by age group, country and field.
To produce general statistics that identify no one, to develop the academy’s programs.

We do not use your data for any other purpose without your permission.

4. Who sees your data

The academy’s admissions team and program coordinators only, and only as far as their work requires.
Technical service providers we rely on to run the site and stay in touch, such as hosting, email and the live session platform (Zoom). They are bound to protect the data.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for marketing.

5. How long we keep it

Accepted applications: for as long as you take part in the program, then two years for records and certificates.
Applications not accepted: deleted 12 months after the decision.
You may ask us to delete your data sooner, at any time.

6. Protecting your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

See the data we hold about you.
Correct any data that is inaccurate.
Delete your data.
Withdraw your consent to our use of your data at any time.
Object to any use you do not agree with.

To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@jilaltufan.org; we will reply within 30 days.

8. Age

The academy’s programs are for people aged 18 and over, and we do not accept applications from anyone younger.

We do not knowingly collect data about people under 18. If we learn that an applicant is under this age, we delete their application and their data at once.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, and we will publish any change on this page with the date of the update.
